Now here's a poser. Was Bruce the 1st paid admission or was it one of those drop in days? I believe he paid that day.

Bruce, all kidding aside, being over there a few weeks back; you must have had a decent sized drop back in those days.

Ken you can judge for yourself, last month I took photos while at the park. Some of the pictures show two areas that we used as our point of entry. You might call it neighborhood privilege; I plan to have these pictures ready some time today. Yes I did pay to get in on that opening day in 1965. If anyone has pictures showing the gates opening, you will see us running. We ran down the west side of the ramp, just before the canon went off. I also paid the day I got caught sneaking in. A friend and me were pickup by two official guards in a patrol car. We were placed in the back seat of the car; one of them leaned over from the front and asked us what he should do with us. He gave us two choices, we get thrown out of the fair or this is when he took a pen out of his pocket. Using the pen, he drew a circle on the seat between my friend and me. He told us if we put something in the circle he would let us go. We pulled out what we had in our pockets about three dollars and placed the money in the circle. He picked up the money and told us we were free to go. I told them that since we paid we would like to be dropped by the Ford Pavilion. We all laugh as they drove to Ford Pavilion and set us free.
