Robert Moses' heirs

Recommended Posts

I've had a request from someone who is wondering if anyone knows anything about the whereabouts of Robert Moses' heirs -- namely, his two daughters.

His obituary lists two daughters, one in Connecticut - Barbara Olds and one in Babylon - Jane Moses-Collins.

There is no obituary for either daughter so the guess is that they are still around,

but no further info on their current whereabouts.

Anyone have any ideas?

LOL, been doing a lot of quick Google searching to find that one, right? smile.gif I tried to see if I could find something in a university library data base but no go. They'd have to be at least in their 80s by now wouldn't they?

Mose's had 2 grandsons. One of them was a downs syndrome child. The other one died in a car crash coming home from college. If you read Robert Caro's book Power Broker, he mentions both grandsons.

I remember hearing Jane lived here in Babylon, died about fifteen years ago. A statue of Moses was put up on Montauk Highway, just a few steps from where his former home had been located. Found an interesting article in Newsday:

Where did Moses' parents get all their money?

According to Wikipedia "Moses's father was a successful department store owner and real estate speculator ..."

I suspect there's nothing he wasn't a candidate for at one time or another.

Maybe even Pope. (of course they burn the ballots so we'll never know....)

I know I’ll probably fire up a hornet’s nest but I’ll ask anyways:

What’s the consensus on Moses as head of the 64-65 NYWF?

Thumbs Up, Down or somewhere in between?
