I found this on youtube today...

Here's a wonderful little 1965 Ford Motor Company film with some great footage of the Ford Pavilion (as well as the Fair in general):

I've seen bits and pieces of this in other World's Fair videos, but this is the first time I've seen the complete FoMoCo film!

Unbelievable!

Thanks for posting that film. Along with the film of Dupont's Wide World of Chemistry and Chemical Magic show, this must be the most complete film of any of the rides of the fair. Seeing the entire thing brought back such amazing memories for me.

Now, if only there were complete films of the rides in the Bell Telephone and Federal pavilions...

Thanks Kevin - I forgot about the animation in the miniature village and also that the big logo tree rotated.

Great stuff. Check out this site with the Mustang concept cars. Not what showed up for the NYWF debut in 1964.

Thanks for the link Mary Ellen - Not too many World's Fair related images in there yet, but there are a lot of great assembly line photos!

BTW - I haven't found a photo of it yet, but there are a couple of internal Ford documents that indicate that the Mustang II showcar was briefly displayed in the Ford Pavilion Product Salon in place of the Cougar II around early-to-mid September 1964.

Apparently, it caused quite a bit of confusion for visitors, as some of the frequently asked questions were: Is that the 1965 Mustang? Is it the 1966 Mustang? Why do you call it the "Mustang II" if it preceded the present Mustang - Why not the "Mustang I"?

(Actually, the "Mustang I" was a small 2-seat showcar from 1962 - shown here)

As a result, the Cougar II was quickly brought back to the Product Salon, and the Mustang II was retired from showcar duty...

I just checked the Ford Images site again today, and found a few more '64-65 NYWF-related images.
There are some really interesting Disney concept model photos in there now!
