I have a copy of a book published by the National Music Co, of Chicago titled, "Gold Nuggets; Adopted as the Official Song Book of the '49 Mining Camp" The top of the cover reads, "A Century of Progress Exposition Chicago 1933." It has a green cover and is 48 pages in length. The pictures that I want to upload are apparently too big for this format. I could send them through email if there was an address. The preface says there was an exhibit of the "Days of '49" for which this book was made. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to see photos or have any interest in acquiring the book. I could not find any other information on the Internet so I am thinking is it a rare copy? Thank you, Mary Lou Nagy
I have run across some science fiction novels with world's fairs as a topic, and thought I would share that. Science Fiction author Robert Silverberg wrote, "Regan's Planet" about a man who builds a satillite orbiting earth that will have a world's fair in it, and the sequel to it, "World's Fair 1992," about a kid that wins a contest and first prize is to work at the world's fair in the Mars Pavilion. They were written in the 70's so dated but fun. Pictures of these are below. There is also one about a superhero of sorts at the 1939 NY Fair and when I find that I will post it. I have a poster in my collection advertising the book.
