Here's an interesting batch of online articles about what was once the World's Largest Searchlight-- created for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition-- then shipped off to the California Midwinter Exposition of 1894-- and finally moved and reinstalled atop Echo Mountain as part of the Mt. Lowe Scenic Railway in Los Angeles.
Its current whereabouts are unknown.

Thanks for posting this Trey. I have been wondering about this for a couple of years--ever since I saw that postcard (or a similar one at least) on Ebay. Thanks for snooping around about it. Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on this mystery.
