Mystery Photo of the Day

Recommended Posts

The owner of this photo recently added to flickr.com says 'a note on the back says this is the pakistan pavilion. the photo is trimmed at "19", so it's not clear whether this is june 6th of the 1939 or 1940 season of the fair.

The way the guy is dressed, I strongly suspect this is from the Pakistan Pavilion at the '64-65 NYWF. Any ideas? Interior views at the Pakistan Pavilion are practically non-existant. Until now I've seen only one.

To revive an old thread, and link to a current one I'm adding today: I would agree that this is the later show, in part because Pakistan didn't exist until 1947! The work in the background looks like it could be an Ustad Allah Baksh, though I could be wrong. Is there any way of finding out the source of this image? Also, as you say, photographs of the interior of the Pakistan Pavilion are pretty much non-existent but you mention that you have seen one. I would LOVE LOVE to look at that. Thank you!
