China In The 1867 Expo

Recommended Posts

I started a new 3d reconstruction project about chinese participations in french Expositions universelles of 1867 - 1878 - 1889 - and 1900...

In fact, only the one of 1900 was really official, but china was represented anyway in the 3 others.

I want to make this film as before shanghaï.

If course, I start by the beginning... the 1867 Pars, exposition...

China pavilion was in a little cute park... in the Champ-de-Mars, near the Egyptian park, in the English Quater.

Here's the map and the China Pavilion is the red point.

Now an engravour of the China Park :

an entry with the ticket gate, a main pavilion... at the first floor a kind of bazaar (store) and at the second, a restaurant.

At right, where's the chimney it's the restaurant kitchen.

The little tower at left is th Tea Bar

Here's the Youtube link to see the first 3d film about the 1867 china pavilion... without texturing for the moment, but I think that already give a good idea how was this little parc in the Paris 1867 exposition...

for the moment, I can't because an exposition starts soon in Paris about Exotic Expositions... and I present a new film... but in few weeks, I will be able to show you another part of this 1867 expo... the Egyptien parc... few buildings, temps, Okel, Salamlik...

That was situated just near this chinese park !
