Mad Men Season 3 - 1963

Recommended Posts

Season 3 starts this Sunday. I don't know if there are any devotees here but it is an excellent show. Steeped in the 1960's style, dress, architecture. Once or twice they have mentioned going to a baseball game. I am hoping that some of the show will deal with the lead up to the fair since they are an ad agency.

Well tonight Don Draper was pitching for the MSG contract and discussing the demo of Penn Station. Later in the show his boss told him there was a conflict and they would not work with MSG. Draper exclaims we need this as our entre into the Worlds Fair which everyone knows will be the biggest trade show in history.

It looks like the NYWF will definately be included in the plot of Mad Men. I hope they do it justice.

Mary Ellen,

I was pretty happy to hear NYWF 64-65 come up in this week's Mad Men episode. I get the feeling creator Matt Weiner must be a big fan of NYWF. Wonder if there will be a Robert Moses portrayal and meeting with him at Sterling Cooper. Looking forward to how this all unfolds. I can absolutely picture Betty at the fair, kids in tow, wearing sunglasses with a cigarette dangling from her fingers.
