Doug Seed Report post Posted August 6, 2009 I smell upgrade. Did PTU change again? All of a sudden I'm having problems viewing some posts and some photos within posts. I can't access all of Johnny's photos of his trip to CitiField. Some come up just fine, but others give me the messages like the following: "Too many redirects occurred trying to open "http://www.worldsfaircommunity.org/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=3782". This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page." Am I the only one? Also, when I first go to PTU (which is my default home page) it now says "loading" with a spinning icon for several seconds before the page shows up. The PTU skin seems different, too. Was there an upgrade in the last several days?
Bill Cotter Report post Posted August 6, 2009 Things look OK to me, just very quiet. I find out about upgrades the same way as the rest of the gang, so if Marc changed something he'll have to let us know. Anyone else seeing the issues Doug mentioned? Bill Cotter Report post Posted August 6, 2009 Doug, I forgot to ask - what browser and version are you using?
Marc Williams Report post Posted August 7, 2009 I smell upgrade. Did PTU change again? I would post something if an update was being made.
Doug Seed Report post Posted August 7, 2009 Oh!!! I may have run a Safari update the other day. I say "may" because i don't shut my computer off very often, and I think I did some Apple updates when I restarted a few days ago after about a month of continual power-up. Marc, I'm now running Safari version 4.0.2 (4530.19) I'm still on OS 10.4.11, though. You?

I am also seeing strange behavior with Safari on Windows but oddly not in Google Chrome which uses the same core technology. I'll have to do more research. worldsfairent Report post Posted August 14, 2009 I continue to have issues on PTU using the Safari browser on all of my Macs at home and the office. I either experience the "loading" issue Doug described, or pictures that fail to load, or as I've mentioned before recently, blank pages altogether that require me to repeatedly hit the refresh button until they finally appear. Marc Williams Report post Posted September 1, 2009 Still looking into this. I have not found any help or fixes so far. It's not even consistent from one Safari user to another. For some it works fine and for others it does not.
Marc Williams Report post Posted September 1, 2009 Safari users, please let me know if the problems are still happening. You may need to clear your cache or restart. In my own tests on Safari I am now seeing the board correctly.
Joey Chernov Report post Posted September 1, 2009 I am still having the issues even after clearing cache, but its not quite as often. But still numerous times per visit.

Marc Williams Report post Posted September 2, 2009 This is a puzzle. I'm running Safari 4.0.2 on Mac and PC and have been unable to reproduce the blank or partially loaded page problem since we updated IP.Board to 3.0.2.
