Randy Treadway Report post Posted August 9, 2008 Ever wonder what happened to the spectacular floating McDonald's restaurant at Expo '86, that became jocularly referred to as "McBarge" ? Here's is what it looked like in its glory days at the Expo http://bobbea.com/expo-86/mcbarge.html Here it is today, abandoned and anchored out in the middle of nowhere in the vicinity of some oil refineries http://www.satellite-sightseer.com/id/5688 And here is a visit inside, to see what is left..... http://www.wraiths.ca/mcbarge.htm
Bill Cotter Report post Posted August 9, 2008 McDonald's was all over Expo '86. For example, you could dine here: or here or here or at the previously mentioned floating McBarge And, if by chance any of your McTrash ended up in the water, you could count on the McDonald's Tidy Tug to clean it up for you! waynebretl Report post Posted August 10, 2008 MolassesOnassis, if you post a scan of the joining piece, I could stitch it all together.

Try this link to the McBarge. http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&...1&encType=
Jim Report post Posted September 22, 2008 That Expo 86 website is quite good and has links to other exposition web sites. Evidently, the Plaza of Nations is now under demolition. There are photographs on the website. The history section is very interesting especially about the powerful influence the 1962 Seattle World's Fair had on the Vancouver planners.
