Does Anybody Have these NYWF Ford Brochures and magazines?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Found a ford Times about the Mustang at the NYWF and various brochures about the Aurora, Allegro, Cougar II and Mustang II that were presumably handed out at the NYWF. Does anybody have any of these things and if so could they please provide scans of them for me.

We have several PDFs that Kevin scanned a few years ago. Let me find them and I'll post them in the downloads section.

Everything I could find is now in the Downloads section.

Some of them are complete issues while others are only the articles related to the 1964-65 New York World's Fair.

I don't have any originals of these but when at the fair, I spent a good 1/2 hour physically inside the Aurora wagon (with my family).

The Cougar II and Alegro we on posts (stands) when I was there so you could not get into them.

I don't remember the "Mustang II" concept being at the Wonder Rotunda. Besides, I thought that car was originally called the Cougar or something like it and was renamed. Do I remember that correctly?

The early Ford drawings of the actual "Mustang" built and unvailed at the Fair on April 17th 1964 were labeled "Falcon special".

I'm glad they changed to MUSTANG.

I know I have "Media Ford" shots of the cars but could only put my hands on this one (Ford Motor Company).

Hi Mark,

Thanks for taking the time to post all those PDFs for me and my fellow PTUers!

David,

What was that like? Were you able to push any buttons? Did a host give you a tour of the inside of the car?

I know I have "Media Ford" shots of the cars but could only put my hands on this one (Ford Motor Company).

Thanks for sharing the shot!

By the way does anybody know what happened to the Aurora concept car?

Hi WFE,

Here's a PDF of the Aurora Brochure...

AuroraBrochure.pdf

I think I might have the Styling X-Cars Brochure somewhere as well, but I don't seem to have a scan of it handy at the moment.

Marc - Thanks for uploading all of those old Ford Times scans again. I was wondering if they would see the light of day again after ExpoArchive was taken down. However, I think there were several more Ford Pavilion articles than the ones you posted. I'll see if can find the rest of the PDFs and upload them to the Downloads section as well.

Best Regards,

Kevin

I've just finished adding the rest of the files to the Downloads section, so I think that's all the New York World's Fair-related articles from the Ford Times.

Best Regards,

Kevin

It seems that the Mustang II prototype was donated to a museum back in 1975

Detroit Historical Museum and the Detroit Historical Society

I'm not sure there was only one of these. Maybe Kevin (Yadda-Yadda) can help with this.

Hi David,

Yep, there was only one Mustang II show car. As you noted, it was donated by Ford to the Detroit Historical Museum several years ago, and is currently on load to the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Owls Head, Maine: http://www.ohtm.org/edu_col.html

(Go to the Automobile Collections, and then click on the link to the "1963 Ford Mustang II")

BTW - WorldFairEnthusiast...

Here are the scans of that Styling X-Cars Brochure for you:

Ford's Big Red prototype turbine truck had a television in the cab for use by the member of the two-person crew who was not driving.

For those who have a copy of VAULT III, the May 1964 issue of FORD TIMES appears with the full sixty pages of text and photos.

See playlist for VAULT III here: http://www.nywf64.com/raydo01.html
