There wasn't much celebration in 1992, was there? I guess Columbus has fallen out of favor.

Yes, Columbus is now a bad guy. Politically correctness, and all that rot.

You gotta admit, if he was a bad guy, he was a brave bad guy. Sailing right up to the edge of the earth like that, and not falling off. Show me a native american who sailed to Africa or Europe without falling off the edge in their canoe. Well okay, maybe there was somebody, but they didn't make a name for themself or get on any postage stamps or anything.

Well, the 1992 celebration took place in Seville, Spain, commemorating the 500-year anniversary of Colombus. It does make more sense to have the fair in Spain than in Chicago, especially considering that Columbus never set foot in Chicago!
