To add to this old thread of Coke at the Fair:

Quite the bargain compared to today's prices. Of course the sodas today are probably 6 times as large, as are many of the customers...

Thanks for the great pics Bill! The penultimate picture reveals that the "nurse uniforms" are in fact Swift's uniforms (note the "S" on the caps).

Looking at what's on the plates in front of them after MB's description of Swift's....and thinking....

....did anybody at the '39-40 NYWF exhibit Spam, which turned out to be mighty useful (if not appreciated) by the troops in WWII ?

I found that Spam was a product from one of Swift's competitors, Hormel, introduced in 1937.

I'm trying to find whether Hormel had a presence at the NYWF in '39-40, or at the San Francisco World's Fair those same years.
