39-40 Stamps

Recommended Posts

Is the stamp on the right a real postage stamp? It says see the fair in 1940 but I don't see any price on it.

One of my very favorite 1939 World's Fair things...

It is not a US postage stamp--the one on the right. By international agreement, all nations must indicate their name on postage stamps and the denomination of the stamp. This has neither.

The stamp on the left is the official commemorative issued for the 1939 NYWF. (Note: The United Kingdom does not have to indicate its name on its postage stamps. The profile of the queen has been accepted and a substitute.)
