Coventry Cross of Nails

Recommended Posts

I've seen plenty of pictures of the Coventry Charred Cross outside the Protestant and Orthodox Center, but I think is the first shot I've come across of the Coventry Cross of Nails. I scanned this was back in 2012 and just came across it and cleaned it up. Yeah, I'm a bit backlogged. 35mm slide from my collection.

I'm confused, Bill.  The bombed Coventry Cathedral is Anglican.  Why would the Charred Cross be displayed at the Vatican pavilion?

The Charred Cross, made from wood from the destroyed cathedral, and the Cross of Nails also made from nails found after the cathedral was bombed during the Blitz are both kept at the ruins of that original structure.

A typo on my part - fixed above now! Thanks.
