The France pavilion in 1975

I love all of these Expo related photos, Bill.  I sometimes have trouble seeing the ever changing names on the various pavilions because the architecture just doesn't;t quite match the intended 1967 purpose.  The sign is impressive but my first thought, however, is that it makes the place look like a giant gasoline station.

And back in those days, customers at gas stations could work on collecting entire sets of dishes.  You would get a new item with every fill-up.  That's what I thought of when I saw this photo.

So that's why I've seen gas station drinking glass collectibles with the NASA space race theme from the 60's floating around cyberspace.
