Recommended Posts

This World's Fair was greatly overshadowed the following year by the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris....

I wonder if anything remains today.

Yes, the Arch of Triumph (former main entrance) remains, along with the former Grand Cafe Restaurant (now the Zoology Museum), the Hivernacle (glass-roofed conservatory), the Umbracle (lattice-roofed conservatory), the Grand Cascade and the lake. The Barcelona Zoo now occupies the area where the semi-circular Palace of Industry once stood.

Ken,

Something caught my eye in your second posting.  At number 8 on the map, is the notation "Monument a Walt Disney".  What exactly does that refer to?

Bill (knowing your background), are you aware of this monument?  Field Trip?  This might be your number one stop.

Parc de la Ciutadella

I found it, with Spanish captions. It's this sculpture of leaping antelope. I don't speak Spanish, but it seems to have been dedicated by the sculptor to Walt Disney, for what reason I don't know
