Queen of Television beauty pageant

From the 25 June 1939 Pensacola News Journal:

Carol Smith was selected as Queen of Television as judges viewed televised pageant. 

Her prizes were an RCA television receiver and a miniature Trylon and Perisphere.

She had graduated from Cornish Art School in Seattle and was employed as "The Girl On the Wheel" at the Fair's Amazon Show.


You can't make this stuff up  :)
