Entering the Fair at 12:17 PM on an unknown day in July 1964

I always enjoy pictures of this area, as they make me think about what the first time visitors must have been thinking as they walked down the ramp.

You can feel by the number of snaps of this view that people had a sense of "wow, we are really here"  and wanted to remember that first impression. This despite the fact that the area was not at all designed for a unified initial effect the way that Disney parks are, for example.

This prompts me to wonder if other fairs produced a similar number of first impression shots (or could have, in the case of earlier ones where photography was not ubiquitous).
