Bill Cotter, April 21, 2017 in 1967, Montreal, Canada - Expo 67
Don't recall any views from inside! Maybe at 10 yrs old I was more interested in the outside than interior floorplans, or maybe so was everyone else.
I remember getting lost (our group of 4) inside Habitat, and knocking on some stranger's door to find a way back to the outside. The people living there were so nice they invited us inside for a look and also a view of the outside from their "apartment".
I don't think that would happen nowadays.
I cannot recall if I mentioned this in an earlier post. Moshe Safdie's apartment in Habitat has been totally refurbished and is now open to the public for tours.
If it does not open search Expo 67 then hit news. The story appears that way. It's worth a look at the stunning interior and exterior photos.
If you go to the de zeen website via this link and type Habitat in the search box, this story and several other Habitat stories will open.
Soffit lighting. Yet another bit of expo 67 that I'd have guessed was from the 1980s.
Ever wonder what an apartment at Habitat 67 looks like today? A cozy one bedroom ( with loft office and second living room ) sold recently for just under 1 Million dollars.
They rarely are available although you can find one on AIRBNB. or VRBO... when they are available for a few hundred dollars per night/ per spare bedroom
If you want a 12 month lease they go for around $ 6500 CAD per month
What a cool place it was in 1967 and remains in 2019.
Looks pretty damn nice!!
