A note of interest here is that they included the text "CAMERAS ADMITTED FREE" on the cover page.

The 1893 Columbian exposition had charged a photo license fee that was four times greater than the general admission, and limited the size of negatives.

Saint Louis in 1904 issued a total of 750 photo licenses, four to women:
