hawaii-tower.jpg

July 1964

Complete views of that tower are hard to find due to the Monorail track.

And no, I couldn't read the yellow sign on the support pylon.

As far as I could make it the sign said something was open near the Monorail. The picture could be a shop interior.

Maybe the fine print says "posted by a time traveler to perplex Bill C."

Well yes, that *is* a distinct possibility... LOL

Okay, Bill, how about the tan sign to the left of the yellow poster with the "5" on it?  Can you read that?

I suspect that's a sign for the 5 Volcano Restaurant.

Yeah, I can make out the word "volcano" under the numeral "5" so it must be the 5 Volcano Restaurant.

Have we seen many photos of the inside of that pavilion?  None stand out in my memory.

We have photos of the inside of the Aloha Theater, but pictures of the other building interiors are almost zilch.

Yes, that sign was for the Volcano restaurant.

I just scanned a few Hawaii interiors last week. I'm not sure when I'll get to them for restoration but will post them when I do.

I seem to recall a shot of a color TV in the lobby, one of the many scattered around by RCA - now was that on a disc or somewhere on this site???

Any idea what became of the sculpture in the first photo?

Wayne, I think the photo of that particular TV was in the Florida pavilion.

This photo is said to be inside the 5 Volcanos Restaurant.
