This is the first I have heard of this:

Truly a beautiful piece, and I wonder if it was ever sold or only shown at the fair (assuming the listing is correct).

Wow! So it's an upright spinet with pick-ups over the strings? Like an electric guitar?

Yes.  By the way, the guys over on Videokarma noticed that it has had the speaker replaced at least once.
