During the summer, I was struck at the similarities between the roof of the British pavilion and the London Olylmpic logo!

Is that a construction photo, Gabriel? It looks like the Union Jack flag is 'made to fit' the tower, but hasn't been hoisted into position yet.

That would be one heck of a souvenir to take home in late 1967! LOL Actually it would make a good free-standing art to set up in, say, the interior of an airport in the British Airways concourse. You'd need a three story atrium.

I think I looked at that photo for two three minutes before I scrolled down to see Randy's question. I was confused as to why the Union Jack was at ground level and could not locate the tower.

Now that we are discussing this, what WAS that Olympic logo anyway? I mean, what is it supposed to represent? It looks like broken puzzle pieces.

It's the number 2012!

Not the most attractive logo for an Olympic!

It is like one of those Rorschach Test images. I wasn't even thinking "2012" and will never understand why is appears as it does.

Agreed Jim. BTW, there is some references regarding the logo looking like something risque from the Simpsons. If you do a google search on "london olympics logo simpsons" or something similar, you will find it.
