Looking for blueprints - Small World, Kodak, and others

Recommended Posts

I was asked to try to find blueprints for a secret project that I can't say more about just yet. If anyone has blueprints for Pepsi/Small World or Kodak, or the other pavilions that lined the street towards the Unisphere, please let me know.

Thanks

Bill

I wish I could say more but will when I can. This is a project by a BIG company so it may be quite interesting, assuming they get a green light to proceed. Anything showing building sizes on that street is welcomed.

Thank you for the posts Bill - I joined the Community yesterday :) I've located a complete set of blueprints for IBM and am thrilled - still trying to get my hands on those Kodak drawings as they are our highest priority. Any direction I can get is much appreciated!

If anyone comes across blueprints for Travelers please let me know? I created a 3D model using 3dsMax 2010, but can't do the interior without the prints. I called corporate in Hartford but they couldn't find them either.

All I've ever seen is this kind of stuff---

trvlrs10.jpg

trvlrs04.jpg

This floorplan of The Travelers building at the New York World's Fair shows the main exhibit area on the second floor of the pavilion, with relative positions of the 13 exhibits.

01. Dawn of Man

02. Discovery of Fire

03. Origin of Art

04. Beginning of Agriculture

05. The First Civilization

06. The Grandeur of Rome

07. Civilization in Peril

08. The Black Death

09. The Voyage of Man's Mind

10. The Journey to the New World

11. The Taming of a Continent

12. The American Crisis

13. Man's Leap to the Stars

nywf64.com has the exterior dimensions of the spheroid, and the floorplan above shows a 30' key that could be used for scaling

Or is it 20' ? My eyes aren't as good as they used to be.

Ok, so I love a good mystery and just dug around the web looking.

I tried the NYPL a while ago and wasn't able to find anything useful. I think I really need the blueprints, which they don't seem to have?

I was at the NYPL last month. I spent 3 days going through the 1964-65 World's Fair archive and came up with around 10 blueprints of various structures. They are largely planning documents and do not show completed building views. They were not in the Engineering files which recorded the dismantling of the park, most of them are from the construction series.

I did find a useful image that can be used to scale the sizes of the various pavillions.

The best part of this archive for me is the photo series. There are numerous copies of photos showing both the construction phase and wintering phase. The aerial shots are fantastic. We just started a project to model selected buildings and pavillions from the Fair in 3D, starting with the Unisphere, Bell, GM, Hall of Science, and NY State pavillion.
