Interesting shots of an Expo I know next to nothing about, Bill. What, if anything, is left of its grounds today?

The main thing I remember (from this board) is that the floating island called Aquapolis was the inspiration for a James Bond movie (called Atlantis in the movie).

Speaking of Aquapolis / Atlantis, does anybody here want to buy a yacht?

What, if anything, is left of its grounds today?

According to Wikipedia, " the Aquapolis was retained as an attraction and eventually hosted four million visitors. As years passed, the number of visitors to the Aquapolis declined and it was closed in 1993. In October 2000, the Aquapolis was towed away to Shanghai to be scrapped."

The site itself became "Okinawa Commemorative National Government Park (国営沖縄記念公園), also known as Ocean Expo Park", although most of the exhibits were removed.

I have several rolls of film from a 1985 visit to the site. Very eerie as much of it was still standing but deserted. I'll add those when I'm done with the publicity photos. I have about 100 more I'm working through to clean, size, etc. I also have a lot of brochures, newsletters, etc. and will get to those as time permits.

Bill, there are some Expo 70 photos mixed in. I'm certain the Textile Pavilion, Sanyo Pavilion and Indonesia Pavilion Hostess pictures are from Expo 70 and I'm about 90% certain the other hostess photos (Escort Guides, Singapore, Furukawa [note spelling correction] and Suntory) are also Expo 70.

Oh darn and drat. They were all in one folder, and not being overly familiar with Expo 75, I just bulk edited them and didn't really think that through. I'll go back and look at them later once I finish doing my taxes. Thanks for letting me know. I'll leave the pages up as they are for now as most of the others are indeed Expo 75.
