Update: Just upgraded to a dedicated MySQL container with our web host. Instead of sharing with many customers we now have dedicated resources just for our database. I hope this ends the slow page loads and availability problems we've been having.

Month-to-month it costs $20 or $240/year

The price goes down to $200/year if we pay annually

Bringing the estimated total to run the community to $510/year

We'll see how it goes. If this works you all should see an immediate performance improvement and no down time.

Thanks! Switching to a service like Weebly or SquareSpace would require converting IP.Board to their community module.

Our challenge is the number of posts in the community is huge and it takes a lot of power to keep everything running smoothly. We've tried budget hosting (Site5) and it was pretty much a disaster. Our current host is able to keep up with our needs.

Hi Everyone,

It's that time of year again. Hosting fees are due in November and the community needs your help. Expenses have not gone up and we were right on target with our estimate for 2012-13.

Best regards,
Marc

I'm one of those slow-as-molasses-to-change people who still use a bookmark to the old peacethroughunderstanding domain and wait a split second for it to mirror over to worldsfaircommunity... LOL

I wasn't aware that somebody else had scooped it up, but yes they have. The current owner claims, and I quote, "The name Peace Through Understanding, a phrase Ruthann was given in meditation years earlier, was chosen."

In meditation indeed... LOL ...she was channeling Robert Moses and didn't realize it.

Can you see the "widget" at the bottom of this page? Just click on the orange "ChipIn!" button and that should do the trick.
