"Gotham World's Fair"

Recommended Posts

OK World's Fair fans, I have something you might be interested in. Basically, it is a stylistic inspiration of the NY World's Fair in a movie.

I am not a big fan of Batman, but I am a fan of New York City, so…

Back in the early 1990's, there was a full-length release of a Batman cartoon, called "Mask of the Phantasm". As you know, Batman takes place in a fictional Gotham City, and the ruins of the old Gotham World's Fair are depicted in this movie. And best thing is, you can see it on You Tube.

It is closer in sensibilities to the 1939/1940 New York World's Fair than the 1964/1965 New York World's Fair, but I think both enthusiasts will appreciate it. So I will post this to both sites.

There are THREE scenes, a "flash-back" and two "current day":

1st Scene ("Flash-back")

Go to www.youtube.com, and search for:

"Batman Mask Of The Phantasm (3/8)" (quotes omitted) located at 3:32
