For anyone in the NY area who might be interested, next weekend (Aug 27-28) the Railroad Museum of Long Island in Riverhead is having their annual festival. The museum has the original miniature kiddie train from the 1964-65 Fair that was part of the LIRR exhibit. Each year they run it during the festival, taking kids (and adults if you care to squish into the cars!) for rides. (See photo) The festival goes from 10-4 each day and admission is $8.00.
