122 years ago today, the great 1889 Exposition Universelle opened its gates-- and wondrous multitudes have been passing under the mighty Eiffel Tower's arches ever since.

Oh. I thought you were going to say that 122 years ago today...Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play! Just kidding. Sorry, I couldn't resist! 
It still amazes me to think that something as universally well-known and famous as the Eiffel Tower was the centerpiece of a World's Fair (or two)!
