Hi all, For those going to Astana, this map of food and drink locations: There is a Line Brew restaurant in Astan itself which gets good reviews - I'm guessing that this is a branch of the same Regards

Lacto-Vegetarian / Pure Vegetarian Options at the Expo
blueexpo posted a topic in 2017, Astana, Kazakhstan - Expo 2017
I would be interested to know what the lacto-vegetarian (terminology used in the Western world) / pure vegetarian (terminology used in the Eastern world) options at the 2017 International Expo are? -
Hello everyone!!! I hope everyone is surviving the snowy winter! My name is John M. Burdick. I am a doctoral candidate at the State University of New York at Buffalo. I am conducting research for my dissertation on the food of the 1964 World’s Fair. I am looking for people who attended, worked at, or organized the 1964 Fair and would be willing to be interviewed about their dining experiences at the Fair. I am interested to hear what people ate, what new foods did they try, and what they may remember about dining at the ’64 Fair. I'd love to hear your experiences about Bel-Gem Waffles, curry at the Indian Pavilion, The Beautiful Spanish Pavilion's restaurants, or any of the exciting food that the Fair had to offer. The interview would be a series of short questions about your memories of the Fair. The interview will either be conducted via email or over the phone, whatever is easier for you. Any help, no matter how small, will surely be useful for the project. Anyone willing to help will be cited in the final project, which should be ready for publication in the (hopefully) near future. If you are interested in participating either comment here or contact me via email at burdick5@buffalo.edu I cannot thank everyone enough for their help with this project! Kindly, John M Burdick Transnational Studies State University of New York at Buffalo

Hello everyone, My name is John M Burdick. I am a finishing my PhD in History and American Studies at the SUNY Buffalo. MY research is on restaurants and international food in the second half of the twentieth century. The first chapter of my dissertation/book project is on international food at the 1964/65 World's Fair. As you might imagine, this site has been an incredible resource. I have also done extensive research in the archives digging through materials on food and dining at the Fair. I was reaching out to see if anyone had any first person accounts they wanted to share of the Fair or if anyone had any tibits of information they wanted to share with me regarding restaurants, food, dining etc at the 64/65 Fair. I would love to hear from anyone and everyone if you had anything you were willing to share. And hey, you may even be quoted in my book project when it is done thanks for the great site and any info you may be willing to share. John
