  1. New to the Fair World

Hello everyone, My name is Mike and I am new here at the World's Fair Community. I have joined because I have recently acquired the waffle irons used at the 1962 Seattle World's Fair, by my great uncle Walter Cleyman. I have restored the irons and burners to working order and am looking for any photos from said Fair. I have found lots of history about the waffles at the fair. Elvis Presley ate waffles from these irons during the taping of his movie "It Happened at the World's Fair", and the Belgian Waffle House was the site of the first ever sattelite transmission over the Telstar sattelite. Any further info or pics anyone here might have would be GREATLY appreciated! If anyone has any questions for me about this subject please feel free to ask. Thank You All! And remember "Keep It Fair!" Mike
  2. So what's the truth?

I see that i am very late to reply to this topic, however I have recently come into ownership from my Grandmother of the actual irons used to cook the Belgian Waffles at the 1962 Seattle worlds fair. They were brought from Belgium (where they were used in 1958 to cook waffles at the 1958 Brussels worlds fair) with her brother-in-law Walter Cleyman and his wife Charlene. I have restored them (minimally) to working condition with the original burners. I am looking for any and all other pictures and information that anyone here might have on this topic. Any help and info would be greatly appreciated. Mike
