  1. Polish Pavilion 1939, for New Member

My Mom was 10 at the time and it made an impression on her as well. Her parents emigrated from Germany and I don't believe they were citizens even though they has been here for 20 years.
  2. Polish Pavilion 1939, for New Member

Is it true that all the lights were turned off in the Pavilion when Germany invaded Poland?
  3. Good to be back

Hi everyone, I haven't been on in ages. Looking forward to the 50 anniversary!
  4. Hello

Missed you guys. I do have a lot to catch up on.
  5. Hello

I haven't been on in ages. Hope everyone is doing well.
  6. Father'S Day Trylon

I went to the cemetery last evening after it rained to visit my Dad. He passed away in 2002 and was everything to me. He has one of those flat markers that sits in the ground. Right underneath his name was a perfectly formed Trylon & Perisphere from the rain. The rest of the marker was dry. How cool was that. Just a sign that he knows I was there!
  7. Brimfield Antique Show

I'm leaving Friday morning for the big Brimfield Mass. Antique Show hoping to find more landfill. Can't wait. Anyone looking for something specific?

Hey nancy, I don't know what Jess has, but I have some doubles that I would be happy to part with.
  10. the collection or landfill room

Hi Guys, I'll have to try and check them out this year. I know what you mean about Brimfield. It is HUGE!! We also have some great antigue shops a short drive from me. I love hunting things down. My heart was beating so fast when I saw the 1939 enamel top table and my husband whispered in my ear to ask them if they would take a check. I actually had to sit down.
  11. the collection or landfill room

Thanks, I wish I had more room to display the rest of my things and YES, ILOVE THIS STUFF!! I haven't been to Stormville in years. Is it worth checking out?
  12. the collection or landfill room

Glen, I live in upstate NY and go to Brimfield every year in May!!!! I love it there. We usually leave on Friday morning and come home late Saturday evening. Always rains too, but who cares. That's where I purchased my enamel top table from the 1939 fair. It's always a great time.
  13. the collection or landfill room

Thanks Glen, I have been collecting since I was in high school. Back then stuff was hard to find. I am proud to say that 99% of the things I have were not purchased on ebay. Don't get me wrong I love ebay, but it took some of the excitement out of finding things. My family have been life long Met fans. We were all born in Queens. Margaret
  14. the collection or landfill room

Hi Doug, it's a card table of some sort. I also have a blue card tablecloth that goes over it.

Never opened the perfume, it's still selaed. The beer stein is one of my favorites along with the 1939 enamel top table. Winter was horrible here in upstate NY. Lots of ice that destroyed the trees. How long did you live in Watervliet?
