1. Walt Disney and the Fair

Hi all. I don't know if this was posted before but at http://www.disney.go.com/disneyatoz/fam ... works.html there is a section called World's Fair that includes a short realplayer clip with Walt Disney talking about his rides at the fair.
2. What was the statue made of? Was it some sort of metal they just melted it down after the fair? I also LOVE that giant cash register in the background of the one picture.
3. TiSL a smashing success!

Wow! Totally cool stuff. Maybe someone could show the Kinko's people what a beautiful treasure they have. Obviously they don't have a clue. It might prompt them to open up their side of the wall. It's just a thought. I believe in the "you just never know" theory.
4. Merry Christmas!

I'm waiting for Santa to bring me several World's Fair items I put on my list!
5. Re-Opening Day Parade- April 21, 1965

Really nice photos Randy. Thanks for posting them.
6. Happy Thanksgiving!

Besides being thankful today for my family, friends, home, job, health and personal possessions.... I am thankful for the internet, PTU, the PTU admins, and all the wonderful PTU members. I have so enjoyed seeing WF pictures and learning about the Fair from your discussions. I hope everyone enjoys a wonderful holiday. (Good luck to all those cooking and entertaining.) Happy Thanksgiving! Sharon
7. personal, shared, news. Non fair post.

Rose, you and your mother are in my prayers. If you need a shoulder, feel free to email me and just let loose. Hang in there!
8. Response to RFEI

OK you can all tell me to shut up because this is a dead issue, but it breaks my heart. I was reading past posts and found that someone emailed the parks department about having NYSP registered as a landmark. Apparently that didn't fly. My question is did anyone fill out official paperwork? I was talking to an architectural historian I work with, and she said that official paperwork needs to be filled out before they will consider something to be registered. Usually buildings need to be fifty years old or older, but if something younger is significant in some way it could be registered. I could get more information from her if it would help.
9. American Interiors Pavilion

I was just wandering through NYWF64. It's something I usually can't find the time to do anymore. I found myself reading about the Pavilion of American Interiors. I just loved reading the part about the 7000 tomorrows. Does anyone on the board remember the big dishwasher? If so, can you share your memories of it?
10. Forgive me if I sound stupid but I'm not that good with the layout of the Fair. Is that the NYS pavillion in the lower right corner? It looks like the images show the glass roof up, then roof down.
11. Hurricane Francis

Personally, I do not have any relatives or friends living in Florida. I can't imagine living there and watching the storm coming at me. I would be so scared. My prayers and thoughts are first for everyone's safety in that area, then for minimum property loss.
12. A Public "Thank You"

OK, for a test I tried to load one image into the gallery in the members section. I named my album and it was accepted, but when I uploaded the image I got the following error Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available. I was logged in so that isn't the problem. My empty album did not show up in the gallery even though I can see it. Any ideas?
13. Pope Visit Photos

I'm a religious education teacher so here is the explanation given to my students.....Catholics believe that the gifts of bread and wine, from the moment a priest says the words of consecration, truly become the Body and Blood of Jesus-which is called the "Eucharist".
14. A Public "Thank You"

I was checking out the gallery section of this board and wondering if that's the place to put the pictures. But, there doesn't seem to be too many people that do that. Is there a reason?
15. Pinkerton at the ready!

The rabbit is whispering come on lines to the girl. She leans back slightly to hear him better and her hand over her mouth hides her telltale smile. Alice looks a little jealous. The boy standing behind the rabbit is looking at the rabbit's behind for some reason.
